MUDDY PAWS ARE WELCOME

WE RECOGNISE THAT FOUR-LEGGED FRIENDS ARE OFTEN A BIG PART OF A UK HOLIDAY AND WANTED TO MAKE SURE THEY WERE WELL CATERED FOR, ALLOWING YOU TO EXPERIENCE CORNWALL’S BEAUTIFUL BEACHES AND WALKS WITH THEM BY YOUR SIDE. SO WE PROUDLY WELCOME DOGS HERE AT THE PINK HOUSE, MAKING IT THE PERFECT LUXURY, DOG-FRIENDLY HOLIDAY HOME HERE IN BUDE.

We’re a big fan of dogs at The Pink House. The utility is complete with cosy underfloor heating and doggie treats, and there’s an entrance to the house via the surf room, where you’ll find a hose and warm shower, ideal for muddy and sandy paws!

Bude’s beaches are dog friendly, with Summerleaze Beach (an 8-minute walk from the house) being dog-friendly year-round. Whilst leads are required May to September, it is only during lifeguard hours (10am-6pm)and outside of these times dogs are free to frolic in the waves and potter around the tidepools for early morning or early evening walks. For the most up-to-date information on dog friendly beaches Visit Bude’s website is worth a look.

Bude’s scenic coastal paths offer endless trails for dog walking and the canal also provides a flat and scenic two-mile path all the way to Helebridge ideal for all ages, including those in buggies and on bikes.

So many of Cornwall’s attractions have cottoned on to the fact that people want to bring their dogs with them when they go on holiday, from trotting alongside a bike on the famed Camel Trail between Wadebridge and Padstow, to visiting nearby historic Tintagel Castle or exploring further afield at the Eden Project or The Lost Garden’s of Heligan, your dog can join the adventure.

However, if you want a day out to explore, or an evening out at a restaurant dog-free, we’d recommend contacting Chloe at Walks and Waves, who offers a dog walking and sitting service to guests of The Pink House - so you can leave content they’ll be having an adventure of their own.

In the summertime, it’s easy to sit outside in pub or café gardens with dogs, but on colder days there’s nothing better than a dog-friendly bolthole. Our local beach cafe Rosie’s has been voted the most dog friendly in Bude, with wet and sandy pups straight off the beach welcome to snooze under tables inside. For an indulgent post-walk cream tea with inside seating, there’s The Barge moored on Bude Canal, or try award-winning The Refectory Tea Rooms at Morwenstow. For a cosy traditional pub, The Falcon or The Brendon Arms welcome four-legged friends.

Whilst the house doesn’t have a dog-friendly garden, the Summerleaze Downs are right opposite, and the beaches a stone’s throw away. Whilst our beloved dachshund Morris is no longer with us, he loved nothing more than a trip to Cornwall to sniff in the sea air and get a good sandy tum. Whenever we went away without him, it always felt like someone was really missing, so we’re glad to have made sure guests of The Pink House can bring their dogs along with them to join in the fun.

Please see our terms and conditions in relation to dogs.
