WELCOME TO THE PINK HOUSE
THIS IS A NEW START FOR THE PINK HOUSE. WE, THE TOMLINSON FAMILY, PURCHASED THE HOUSE IN AUGUST 2020 BRINGING TOGETHER OUR COMBINED EXPERTISE IN PROPERTY MANAGEMENT AND LUXURY TRAVEL WITH THE AIM OF CREATING A FUN, LUXURIOUS COASTAL RETREAT.
With my side of the family based in and around the picturesque fishing village of Mevagissey on the south coast of Cornwall, one might wonder why we bought a house in Bude (well, a question my family have asked rather a lot!) Simply put, we just absolutely fell in love with the style of the house having seen it via The Modern House - the Hogarth’s designed the most fantastic space. It shouted out with potential to have a lot of fun there with friends and family, a home big enough to sleep sixteen is a rare find – particularly this close to the beach.

We’ve used this hiatus in travel to make changes to the house, starting with designing our branding and launching our website with the help of Hoult + Delis and Olivia Cryer Creative. We’ve spent time curating interesting art to adorn the walls and sourcing hotel-grade linens to embroider with our new logo - we’re having real fun styling the house. It is really important to us that The Pink House feels like a home-from-home for our guests, including extremely comfortable beds (the new mattresses are excellent) and carefully thought-out additions to make every stay relaxing and memorable. A long career in luxury travel has provided plenty of inspiration for adding the little touches that really matter.

Whilst we didn’t know Bude well before, we’ve fallen in love with the town and have loved meeting local suppliers as we’ve transformed the house. We can’t wait until we are able to spend more time getting to know Bude and the surrounding area, seeking out the best local shops, restaurants, artisans, activity providers and hidden gems to recommend to our guests . I have been dreaming of being able to surf (albeit badly) on Summerleaze Beach and of running along the coastal path, and the kids are constantly asking when they can go to “my Cornwall” again. This year, we are getting booked up very fast and we’re looking to organise fitness retreats - with everything from yoga to paddle boarding.
